Stress, anxiety and burnout are at an all-time high. Self-care is no longer an indulgence, it’s imperative. Nestled between the warm turquoise ocean and the vibrant El Yunque National Rainforest, Casa Alternavida is a sanctuary where 21st-century problems melt away and a new way of living emerges.
Boutique Puerto Rico wellness property’s retreats turn stress and overwhelm into Adventure and Joy
The lushly vegetated property offers individual, themed retreats, teambuilding, and executive leadership retreats. No matter the program, each includes a pre-arrival assessment, three organic meals a day, daily guided nature adventures, a morning movement class and well-appointed, nature-inspired accommodations adorned with murals by a local artist.
Casa Alternavida is a house of transformation that helps people get out of their heads and into their hearts. Its team of diverse wellness practitioners guide guests in practices designed to deliver deep insights that drive fundamental mindset shifts. Once the guest’s inner landscape is changed, work begins to align their outer world back home with the new inner world they have discovered at Casa Alternavida.
Located just 30 minutes from the San Juan airport, Casa Alternavida is easy to get to, but far removed from the fast-paced, stressful world most of us live in daily. With customizable individual retreats, the property is perfect for solo travel, a getaway with girlfriends or a chance to reconnect with your significant other. Guests can craft their perfect retreat by adding on programs in meditation or breathwork, personal coaching, symbolic ceremonies and therapeutic massage services.
Casa Alternavida is truly a labor of love, renovated by its owner Yancy Wright and two local construction workers. The property seamlessly blends luxury and sustainability. It maintained 100% of the landscape during the renovation and 83% of the furniture was salvaged and restored. The property uses 90% off-grid energy and has a strong recycling and composting program. His inspiration in designing and building Casa Alternavida was to create a safe space to get away, regroup, and explore life challenges with the support of high-quality practitioners and amazing food. After a career burnout resulting in a near death experience in 2012, he realized many people could use a solution like this.
